A Tale of Two Pixies by Kathleen

Hi folks Kathleen here with my review and comparisons to two of Raquel Welch’s all time favorite pixies. The collage (image 1) shows Power on top and Winner on the bottom. This was fun and something I always wondered about. Interestingly enough they are both in Glazed Fire (the color that started me on my love affair with reds 😉) Ahh but their colors codes are different. Whattt? Lol. Above in image 2 are these two pixies side by side. As you can see they are slightly different reds. Winner on the left is in R28S+ and has a ginger/butterscotch blonde highlight throughout not just on top and in front like the R28S on Power. This gives the R28S+ on Winner a slightly overall warmer appearance and lighter appearance in front than Power’s R28S. Power on the right is more vibrant and redder than Winner. Above are the specs for both of these pixies. Very similar. Very light and both are fun to wear. Image 4 shows Power and Winner side by side from the front. Same natural lighting conditions. You can see how much lighter in front the R28S+ on Winner is than Power’s R28S. There is more permatease on Power so getting crazy volume is easy. The texture is amazing on Power. With Winner you have to work on it a little more. The layers on Power are more razored than Winner’s. I love the side view on both of these. Plenty of hair. No wefts showing. I was worried I wouldn't have good coverage at the sideburn area and I the nape. No problems at all. Interestingly enough Power is marketed as a petite/average. I always thought she would be snug. Not at all! I have a 21.25” cir. and I had to take in the nape adjusters quite a bit. As a matter of fact Power was bigger on me than the average cap of Winner. Winner is really your basic perfect pixie. I love her. One of my first wigs was a CysterWigs clearance petite Winner in glazed Vanilla. She’s a great first wig because she doesn't have any scratchy monofilament features. And she has permatease but you can’t see it and its just enough to obscure wefts and help with the style. About the only difference between the construction of Power and Winner was the memory cap. Both had open ear-tabs and nape. Permateased top and your basic open cap. Ok so Winner is a winner. 😂 I love the coverage and I love the color of course..and will probably get one in the petite version. Below is a video of Winner. Adorable easy to wear..I have absolutely nothing bad to say about her...great right out of the box a true shake and go wig. She was on loan from CysterWigs so no product or anything was used on her to get this tousled layered look. Ahh Power. I was surprised how much I love her. I thought she was going to be much shorter. I am very happy with her length. You can style her in a million ways. The styling versatility is off the charts. Is she a shake and go? She could be. If you want a very spiky straight up voluminous wig..Power is your baby. I on the other hand found her to be a bit of a challenge to find the right amount of volume etc for me. But once I did I fell in love with her. An odd feature (to me anyway) is she has dark little clusters of hair at the hairline instead of permatease (you sometimes see along non lace fronts I assume to give bangs etc. some lift). They are darker than the rest of the wig. I don't know why though since this isn't a rooted color. I would have preferred they be the same color as the wig, having said that I love her and even though she was on loan I’ve purchased her...lol...I just couldn't part with her. 😜 The texture is so amazing she’s chic and not your run of the mill pixie. So obviously the pros far outweigh this feature. Below is a video of gorgeous Power..fun and funky and I style her differently every time I wear her. And the good part is no product is needed at all to keep her looking great. The take away here is these are two great pixies. If you want a perfect true shake and go pixie Winner is an awesome choice. If you want some funk and fun and texture galore than Power is the one for you. Both winners in my book...ENJOY!

Can I Cut the Extended Nape Off of My Wig?

November 24, 2020

We normally do not recommend cutting the extended nape off of a wig because it was made specifically for the style, but that's not saying you can't do so. We have had clients write in stating that they have cut the nape felt off completely with enough space for the adjusters and they said the wig fit much better in the back.
