How do I know what color the model is wearing?

April 13, 2021

The photos of all the colors that are located under the product photos (red arrow in the photo below) are the shades the style is available in. Now, if you want to know which shade the model is wearing, those are available in the "Highlights" section (blue arrow) of the description portion of the site. If it is a photo of Heather, she includes the shade she's wearing at the bottom of the photo! (Super helpful!)

Why don’t you offer wig customizations?

Why don’t you offer wig customizations?

March 16, 2021

Customizations are generally done under the condition that the wig cannot be returned after being altered. Clients are often eager to take advantage of these services and dismiss the risk that they may not like the outcome...until they realize they cannot return the wig! So, if they receive the wig and it doesn't work, there is generally a very high likelihood that the dissatisfied client will file a chargeback to get out of paying for the services. Chargebacks are very damaging for small businesses, so most of us try to avoid them at all costs.

Can I Combine My Loyalty Rewards into 1 Reward?

December 16, 2020

I'm afraid I've got some bad news: We cannot add points back to your loyalty account if you have already redeemed the points for a coupon. This is an automated system, and there is no way for us to override it. The issue you may have run into is that these are coupons, meaning that you can only use one per purchase.

I have items I'm saving in my cart, why do they keep disappearing?

December 01, 2020

When shopping online, although you have an item placed in your cart, unless you have paid for it, these items can still go out of stock. Meaning if there is only 1 wig in stock for a certain style and someone else adds it to their cart and completes the purchase before you do, this item will be removed from your cart and register out of stock. Unfortunately, the shopping cart does not secure the item, the purchase is what secures the item.

Add an Item to an Existing Order

October 21, 2020

Thank you for your recent order! Unfortunately, we are unable to add items to existing orders because of security reasons, so we do not retain your payment information! We are very internet security conscious at CysterWigs.com. Because of this, we have our security settings cranked all the way up to 11. We cannot add items to an order that has already gone through checkout, because we never have access to more than the last 4 digits of your credit card number at any time. (Not even the store owners have access to all of your card information!)

What happened to the

What happened to the "Dud List"

August 18, 2020

Remember the Dud List? If you don't, then let me bring you up to speed: I used to maintain a "Dud List" of wigs that I thought were either grossly overpriced for what they were, had shoddy craftsmanship, or caused a LOT of returns due to quality concerns.

What do you mean by

What do you mean by "Medical Grade"?

August 12, 2020

Medical wigs are made to be used as prosthetics (hair replacements) as opposed to fashion or cosplay wigs, which are worn to look cute but are not meant to be worn by folks with medical hair loss. Medical wigs tend to have comfort features and high end finishes. These include felt, silicone, or polyurethane in the caps to aid with grip and comfort when worn against a bare scalp. If they have lace, the lace is precut. (This is not the case in fashion and cosplay wigs, where they emphasize customization of the hair line over ease of wear.) That's the general rule of thumb, at least. Some brands blur those lines, like Rene of Paris, Ellen Wille's Changes and Perucci lines, and the newer crop of Estetica wigs. These all tend to skimp on higher end cap features in favor of fast production and trendier styles, similar to fashion brands.

This is a hate-free zone :)

This is a hate-free zone :)

June 17, 2020

I want to let it be known that this is a place where we should all come together to be supportive of one another in our respective hair journeys, whether or not we support (or understand) each others’ life paths. This could be a fabulous opportunity to learn from one another, provided we maintain respect for each other’s boundaries.
