I ordered Angelique because of Heather's review of it and its general style that roughly resembles the way I wear my biohair. It is an affordable wig, it's Jon Renau and to me that means high quality, and it came in a color I wanted to try, Shaded Fortune Cookie. I have very dark biohair (a 2 or 3) and I am tired of getting dark wigs to match it. Shaded Fortune Cookie has dark roots and then lighter colors giving more dimensionality. I figured I would be able to experiment with lighter hair that would transition nicely from my everyday biohair and for a low price.
When she first came and I tried her on, merely shaking her out first, I wasn't crazy about the way she looked. It seemed she had some box hair (which I knew would subside eventually) and seemed top-heavy, i.e., a lot of hair on top and much less falling toward the shoulders. I couldn't get the thick bangs to look natural and I felt she was a bit wiggy.
I put her away and then took her out again a week or so later to give her a second look. This time I noticed how light weight she is. I have other O-so-lite wigs and lover their feathery feeling on my head. Angelique has this too. This time, I was able to work out the box crimping and move the bangs around a bit and she looked much better. Best of all, I can pull her back into a pony and it looks surprisingly good. I can rarely do that with my other long wigs, partly because I have a rather full head of shoulder length hair that I wrap underneath, and that adds…
