I love the style and the color but...

I have a love/hate relationship with this wig. I love the style, I love the length, I love the raizor cut layers, I love the short bang, it looks natural with or without make up. But the more I wear the more I find that she is far from perfect. She sheds a lot, the fibers are thin and dry. It tangles a lot, I have to constantly use simply styling spray and the deal breaker. You can see the wefts on the back. I’ve been wearing this wig the whole time not realizing that people can see through the wefts. It is so low density that there is not enough hair to cover the wefts. I wouldn’t buy it again unless Rene of Paris would upgrade and make it better.

Dakota - Don’t let the Stock photo fool you!

When I first saw Dakota I passed right by her! The promo photo is lovely but I couldn’t get past the color (silly I know). Since I’m new to wigs I’m still learning so much, and I’ve thing for me is that I like some length and I’m not a permatease fan.

After watching a few reviews I went for it. Of course I’m like all of you - I practically ripped it out of the delivery persons hands and ripped open the package!

Right out of the box I was in love. The cap felt snuggly but didn’t strangle my brain. The wig’s low density and natural movement made me so happy. I practiced tucking it behind my ear - and it worked. I was a fail on the pony tail but believe a 3/4 tail with the nape fringe will help with the cap/weft exposure issue (still need to try that.)

It is so light on my head I forgot I was wearing it. After a few weeks wear I will note it does shed a bit. Also I ordered the Toffee LR. This wig would be almost perfect as a rooted wig but as long rooted I think it started to make the length look a bit unrealistic. I would probably not order LR again; that’s just me.

The Toffee color is a good fit for me but I will note the hair seems a bit shiny to me. I’ve done all the “Heather” things and internet advice to tamp down the shine but it’s still pretty strong — but don’t despair I wear it anyway. And get compliments, which tells me it’s only shiny to my eye not biohair folks.

It washed pretty well, and so far it’s not frizzing up like I expected due to the length. I…

Nice!

I Like this wig. Love the color and how lightweight it is. I almost didn't feel it at all until it started to itch a little. It is a little on the big side and didn't stay put the entire night. But overall, I liked it and felt comfortable in it.

So close and yet so far

I have such mixed feelings about my Dakota.

First of all, as I have said in other reviews here, I love the RoP line for its beautiful fibers and sophisticated range of styles and colors. The color I chose for Dakota is one I have on two other pieces, Caramel Brown. It is a lovely and realistic blend of 4-6, and an ash blonde. You can read the manufacturer's description to get a better idea of it.

Depending on how I part Dakota, the ash blonde is more or less prominent and that is a plus. It can be changed for versatility. Since I don't typically like mono parts, I am happy to report that I can also vary the side the part is on. I prefer parts on the right (I am left-handed, so that figures) and so a full mono top is better for me.

On the positive side, Dakota is exactly how I wear my biohair: same length and style. I have had my biohair this way since college, with occasional changes to bobs and other styles. I always come back to this as it seems most like "me". Dakota has a lace front -- not a great one but not bad. She is very light weight and the density is realistic. I never had a ton of hair and it has gotten thinner as time has gone on, so for me, this is great. Dakota doesn't have too much permatease, if any. For me that is also great.

On the not so positive side, it seems like a cheaply made wig, I am sorry to say. The hair is a bit shiny. The lace doesn't also lie flat. It tangles like crazy -- too much for my taste. I wish they would just improve the…

My Favorite! LOVE Dakota!!!

I am new to wigs, and have bought for. Dakota was out of stock for a while but I just got a notice it was back in stock, ordered it, and it is my favorite by far! The color I ordered (Pastel Blue) is much more beautiful than in the the photo, which looks white. It is more of a way cool steely gray with dark blue roots. It’s edgy but beautiful. I never want to take it off!
