Poor quality of fibers!!!

I purchased my Dakota in the caramel brown which I thought was absolutely gorgeous on Heather in her color spotlight youtube video. The color IS beautifully striking, the overall style is sleek and just what I was hoping for; no permatease with a functional lakefront. This is why I gave only 3 stars: the fibers, after only 2 wears, has frizzed up as if it were 2 months old! I use simply stylin silicone spray on all my wigs, I take excellent care of my wigs and never had a wig where the fibers went south so quickly, they also tangled more than the average, I'm really heartbroken about this with when I had such high hopes.

Dakota - Don’t let the Stock photo fool you!

When I first saw Dakota I passed right by her! The promo photo is lovely but I couldn’t get past the color (silly I know). Since I’m new to wigs I’m still learning so much, and I’ve thing for me is that I like some length and I’m not a permatease fan.

After watching a few reviews I went for it. Of course I’m like all of you - I practically ripped it out of the delivery persons hands and ripped open the package!

Right out of the box I was in love. The cap felt snuggly but didn’t strangle my brain. The wig’s low density and natural movement made me so happy. I practiced tucking it behind my ear - and it worked. I was a fail on the pony tail but believe a 3/4 tail with the nape fringe will help with the cap/weft exposure issue (still need to try that.)

It is so light on my head I forgot I was wearing it. After a few weeks wear I will note it does shed a bit. Also I ordered the Toffee LR. This wig would be almost perfect as a rooted wig but as long rooted I think it started to make the length look a bit unrealistic. I would probably not order LR again; that’s just me.

The Toffee color is a good fit for me but I will note the hair seems a bit shiny to me. I’ve done all the “Heather” things and internet advice to tamp down the shine but it’s still pretty strong — but don’t despair I wear it anyway. And get compliments, which tells me it’s only shiny to my eye not biohair folks.

It washed pretty well, and so far it’s not frizzing up like I expected due to the length. I…

I Love Dakota!

Between the colour, “Melted Marshmallow”, and the style of Dakota, I am in love with this wig.

Great concept, okay execution

Love the cut! Love the color! (Melted marshmallow) Love the style! Not a fan of the fibers. The hair fibers are very fine and dry. I have used silicon & ageon oil on then and it helps—but only briefly. The hair doesn’t move like the hair on my other wigs. It’ clumps together & has a bit of “troll doll hair” quality. And just like in Heathers video the front was creased & takes a little work to “unfold” the crease in the hair fibers. I have a 21.5” head and the cap is a bit big on me, the lace doesn’t lie perfectly flat in the front, but it’s not too obvious so long as I don’t pull the hair back. I love how it’s so lightweight, just wish the fibers were more realistic looking. I’m Hoping they come they create a Dakota 2.0 with more realistic looking hair fibers. A girl can dream!!

Prettier than the product photos...

My hubs bought me the Dakota in Melted Marshmellow. It is prettier than the product photos - a sort of featherlight, low density style. The fiber is so ultra-fine that I am not sure about durability, but it moves beautifully. The color Melted Marshmellow is really a winner - sort of a reddish brown root, fading to a soft blonde and eventually white tips, but all very subtle. It came out of the box with a funny square shape on the top, and a odd sort of wrinkle against the neck right under the nape, but a fabric softener soak and little bit of steam seems to have smoothed it out. Sheds more than most of my other wigs - I am new to ROP so maybe that is normal with this fine, fine fiber. Cap fits average, little roomy on my pinhead. A buy-again as the light weight makes it nice for summer.
