I'd never used anything to tone down the shine of my synthetic wigs, so when I purchased Alia and Rosie from Heather, I wanted to give the wig wand a try. I mean, it's gosh darn cute looking and kind of hard not to be curious about. I wasn't crazy about it, by any means. The wand took quite a surprising bit of vigorous tapping while I was wearing my wigs to dispense the powder. I was really applying serious effort to get the talcum out, and the shine wasn't diminishing one bit. I tried fluffing the pouf a bit to get things going, and that didn't really help. When I walloped my head hard enough to get the powder out, I ended up with a nice round patch of white on my head. Luckily the stuff didn't have an offensive smell and it blended nicely into my brunette wig. The shine eventually got toned down. I'm holding onto this for emergency use. My next step will be to try some Batiste dry shampoo on my synthetic wig collection to tame the shine.
