Face Shape: Heart + Inverted Triangle

This face shape:

  • A wide forehead (somewhat similar in appearance to round faces, but have a wider forehead)
  • Cheekbones and forehead are the widest parts of face
  • Face gets more angled towards the chin
  • The chin is prominent and finishes into a point
  • Heart has a widow's peak
  • Inverted triangle is the same, but without the widow's peak

Recommendations:

  • Because the face is widest above cheekbones and around forehead, avoid styles that flare out in those areas
  • The goal is to narrow the forehead and even out the prominent chin
  • Aim for volume on top and/or below the cheekbones
  • Fringe is your friend
  • Curls can be great, but be sure that they are not the most voluminous near the widest part of your face
  • Looks great in lobs and longer layered styles
